Join us on Thursday 30th October at 5.45pm for a special Halloween themed informal art workshop accompanied by a glass of wine or Irish crafted Poitín cocktail.
Focusing on a favourite from Butler Gallery’s permanent collection, High Court of Justice by Mildred Anne Butler, Artist Rachel Burke will guide you through the creation of your own version of the work.
Crows, rooks and ravens appear regularly in Butler’s work and she kept many taxidermy pieces to ensure her depictions were anatomically correct. During the workshop we will explore and discuss this approach as well as Butler’s humorous use of birds in her work.
No experience is necessary. This is an informal workshop for beginners and experts alike where you can work to your own skill level.
